What do you think of the new site?

August 3rd, 2007 · 8 Comments · Friends and Supporters, Voice of Vadim

As you can see, SOTW has a new look-leaner, easier to navigate, and more pleasing to the eye, I hope.

You probably have figured out that in no way I would be able to do such a fantastic job of moving it to a new platform had it not been for some outside help. In the best traditions of “Sovok of the Week,” cosmopolitan as we are, we hired a Romanian programmer Misha (Mihai) to do this work for us.

What do you all think? Hopefully, we can also check our membership roll. Old-timers, where are you?

Always a pleasure to be depicted as a programming hobo :D
Note that I’ll also code php and C++ for food.

Wait a minute, you got another Misha!!! I slave under your whip since day one and all I get is extra layer of cardboard for closet floor. Not even thank you like this, just jokes about my funny looks and run-ins with police. Now I am being replaced… BY A ROMANIAN!!! I may not be a gymnist but I am good servant to Sovok of the Week.

Put a link to your site!
Tell me who is that guy on the photo?
    What Misha of the two?
    Regards

The photo features Misha the Romanian code warrior who helped us redo the site. The other Misha, a bum that he is, never bothered to submit his photo for our SOTW newsletter citing “lack of funds.” Paying him is like throwing money to the wind …

Hmmm, it’s slick, shiny, new, user-friendly, and has done its best to cast off any remnant of soviet grunge… Sort of like New Russia. Zhalko. Give me a decade or two, and I shall adjust…
